Nox & Particulate Sensor Removal & Thread Repair Kit
The Nox & Particulate Sensor Removal & Thread Repair Kit is designed to assist technicians in safely removing seized sensors and repairing damaged exhaust threads.
This kit includes specially designed M22mm and M24mm sockets with a cutout feature that allows the sensor cable to pass through, eliminating the need to cut the cable when reusing the sensor. These sockets can also be used to securely tighten the sensor upon refitting.
In many cases, sensor removal results in stripped threads within the exhaust, preventing the installation of a new sensor. Replacing an exhaust system can be costly and, depending on stock availability, could result in extended vehicle downtime.
The M20mm and M22mm thread repair tools in this kit enable technicians to restore damaged threads with ease. The process involves:
Guided Cutting: A precision guide is inserted into the exhaust to ensure accurate thread removal while preventing swarf from entering the system.
Oversized Threading: A specialised cutter removes the damaged thread to a controlled depth.
Thread Insert Installation: A new thread insert is securely fitted, restoring the original thread size for sensor installation.
The kit is supplied with three thread inserts of each size (M20 & M22mm), with additional inserts available separately.
